End of T-Ball Season

Before the last game, the team met at Allsop Park to have pizza and get their trophies.  We are thankful to have spent another year with Coach Adam and can't wait for the 2016 season.

Spike

We got to host Mrs. Peterson's class bearded dragon, Spike for the summer.  Pretty sure I grew more attached than the kids and was sorry to take him back to school in August.

Louisville

School got out the Friday before Memorial Day and there was a week before summer care started at Holy Souls so I thought it was the perfect opportunity to head to Louisville to see G.G., JoJo and the family for a long weekend.  The plan was to head out Saturday morning but thanks to the fever virus, we delayed our trip by a day.  Emma woke up Sunday morning and seemed good to go.  Brad and Josh went ahead and went to church and then I planned to leave with the kids if Emma still felt fine.  She did so we packed up and headed out.  About an hour in to our trip, it was clear that Emma was feeling bad again but we decided to press forward and hope that she could rest up in the car.  She did sleep off and on for a lot of the ride and at one point through Memphis, they were both asleep.  The sounds of silence!  The drive was delayed thanks to a wreck that shut down 40 near Nashville so we didn't end up arriving in Louisville until near 10 that night.  It worked out okay though because Emma got plenty of rest and woke up Monday morning fever free and ready to have some fun.  We headed to Ann's house for a Memorial Day party.  The kids spent the entire time other than a quick break to eat in the pool.  The next day I took them to the Derby Museum and then Wednesday morning, we headed back to Ann's for a little more pool time before driving home.  JoJo thought I was nuts but both kids ended up napping again.  We enjoyed the visit and got to spend lots of time with G.G.  Looking forward to going back soon!

Field Day 2015

The last week of school was a rough one.  First, Brad's Dad took a bad fall from a ladder trying to get down from the roof.  He was banged up with multiple breaks and one that required surgery.  Brad left on Tuesday to go up to Missouri for a few days.  Around the time that he left, Josh came down with the first fever virus that would and still continues to plague us.  He missed Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday but fortunately rallied and was able to return to school for the last day.  On a side note, since he was out for the end of the year testing, Ms. Nichols asked if I could test him at home.  That didn't necessarily go well so when we picked up Emma on Thursday, I dropped him off so she could test him quickly.

Field Day was a blast and the weather was perfect.  Since it was a full day of school this year instead of a half day, pre-K and Kindergarten got things started in the morning.

1st-5th grades came out for lunch.  They both had a great time and little did we know that by that evening, Emma would be dealing with that nasty little fever virus.  Glad she got to enjoy Field Day first!

Softball Closing Ceremony

It was a great softball season.  The girls improved so much throughout the season even though we were once again severely hampered by rain.  If we ever play more than 50% of the scheduled games, I may decide that I actually don't mind all the rain outs.  Luckily, the weather was perfect for the closing ceremony and rather than stop the middle game halfway through and do all the teams at once like last year, each game ended about 10 minutes early to present trophies to those two teams.  I got the honor of saying the names and don't think I butchered any.  Great season Hot Shots!

Love watching this boy play ball!

Junior Deputy Day at Dickey Stephens

On May 17th, Dickey Stephens had Junior Deputy Day.  The boys got to line up with their team and parade across the field before the Travelers game.  I'm sure Brad was picturing Josh in a Cardinals uniform walking on to the field at Busch Stadium some day.
