Lesa's 40

On July 30th, Lesa turned 40 years old.  Since her brothers didn't do anything "special" for her that day, she thought she was going to slide by.  She should have known better and that they would go all out.  Dale and Brad planned to surprise Lesa in Cole Camp the weekend after her birthday and Chris was a more than willing participant.  In advance of her arrival, the whole crew made sure that the town of Cole Camp knew she was celebrating a milestone birthday.

Pirates Recognition

Since there was no end of the season baseball tournament, Junior Deputy recognized the regular season 1st and 2nd place teams.  The AA Pirates got to take the field and receive medals on July 27th.

Florence - June 17th

We waited in line for a good amount of time to gain entrance to the Cathedral and while patience was wearing thin on the parts of several, it was worth seeing once we got inside.  

We spent the rest of the day roaming about the city and found the best Gelato spot in all of Florence at least and maybe beyond.  We also paid a visit to the Razorback; as it goes, rubbing his snout ensures that you will come back to Florence.  We all made sure to give it a good rub.  In addition to what was mentioned already, we also visited the Galileo and Da Vinci museums while in Florence.

And that concludes our trip to Italy since the next morning, we had to go to the airport in Florence to make our return trip to Little Rock.  Sadly our flight was full this time around but at least we had the four middle seats so we were all together.  The kids were awake the entire time, which was okay since we wanted them to go directly to bed when we got home.  Josh did end up sleeping through the entire flight from Atlanta to Little Rock but had no trouble going back to sleep when we got home.  The trip was amazing and something that we'll all remember.  

Florence - June 16th

On our second day in Florence, we had two museum tours, the Academia and the Uffizi.  The Accademia is the home of the David by Michelangelo and was our first stop of the day.  

Between the Accademia and the Uffizi, we had free time for lunch and to explore a bit.

A little rest time

We finished out the day with the Uffizi.  I have to say that I was a little concerned at how Josh would do with not one but two museums.  Thankfully, with the guided tours, you move pretty quickly and don't spend time looking at every painting/sculpture so it kept Josh's interest for the most part.
