Early End to Basketball Season

Josh's basketball season came to an early end.  Their first practice back after Christmas break on January 7th, he fell and came down on the left wrist funny.  When it was still hurting on Wednesday, we took him to the doctor; x-rays were clear and she debated sending him to an orthopedist.  Brad let her know that if it helped her make a decision that he is a very active kid.  With that, she got him an ortho appointment that afternoon.  A second x-ray was also clear but where the pain is localized is where the scaphoid bone is located and that is difficult to see on x-ray.  They ultimately diagnosed it as strain with possible fracture and casted him.  He chose red for the first go around and at least looked on the bright side that he was always thumbs up.  His coaches were disappointed that they'd lost him for the season and we were certainly disappointed.  We were looking forward to seeing him out on the court again.  I will say that he has been a great teammate, sitting on the bench to support his team even though I know he'd rather be on the court.

Second cast two weeks later.  He wanted neon green so he could be like Marcel Ozuna.
