6th Grade Girls - Championship

Championship game against Little Rock Christian at the the Little Rock Christian arena.  The girls played a great game and should have gotten a win.  As with the previous years, near the end of the game, after the Warriors coach had a sidebar with a referee (with his arm around the refs shoulder) during a timeout, calls were missed on one end of the court and bad calls made on the other.  The game ended up going to overtime and the girls lost by one.  Josh and I rushed out to make it to watch the other 4th grade boys team play for the championship, which was just as well because those girls were so upset.  Emma was sobbing, which is unlike her so you know how much that game meant.  I think the thing that upset her most was how they lost it.  Brad was standing back at the rail and even parents that were coming for the next game noticed how the refs favored Little Rock Christian.  It was a hard, hard way to end the season but they should be proud of how well they played all year.  They've got a great group of players!
