Pompeii & Vesuvius - June 13th

We headed to the Big Tree (that was the actual meeting spot with no address included) to get the bus for our tour of Pompeii and Vesuvius.  The tour started out with Pompeii; it was amazing how much has been uncovered and they're still excavating to this day.  So amazing to see the murals that still exist on the walls and the mosaic floors.  

After a brief stop for lunch, we headed to Vesuvius.  I don't think any of us had in mind that we would be hiking today but glad that we all had on tennis shoes.  The hike to the top was a little warm but well worth it.  At the top though were some crazy beetle type bugs that were everywhere and landed all over you.  Emma did not love that part.  It was so amazing to be standing at the top of Vesuvius and try to imagine what it looked like before it blew off a good portion of the top.
